HETHERSETT ATHLETIC A TEAM v Sprowston Rovers (Memorial Playing field Sunday December 17th 10.30)
Well sunday saw a well fought game between two sides that are close in the league. Both sides started well and chances were created by both teams. Some good play by Paul Martin and Chris Sutcliffe for Hethersett in the first half nearly breaking the deadlock before half time.
The second half was again very even until Hethersett decided to change their team by putting Lewis Allen and Matt Parkhouse on for Nookie and Rob Pugh. The two substitues completely transformed the game, Matt's lightning pace down the left flank and Lewy's skill were too much for Sprowston...
Ok that last section was completely untrue, i'll try again.....
Rob Pugh's knee started playing up and Lewy would have started the game without question so both substitutions were made. The game seemed destined for a no score draw before Hethersett Athletic won a corner with around 5 minutes to go. Everyone piled forwards and from the resulting corner Matt Parkhouse fired a thunderous header into the net...
Ok i'll stop it now.....
Everyone piled forward for the corner and the Sprowston defender could not clear his header and headered it past the keeper into his own net. This was unlucky for Sprowston who probably deserved a draw from the game, but is a great result for Hethersett who still have they eyes set for the title....
There were a few bookings... Rob Pugh got booked for kicking the ball away (and having a go at the ref..) While Rob was still complaining the ball got played through and Danny Holman fouled the attacker and was booked, and then Mike Pugh was booked for moaning at Rob Pugh (who at that time was currently linesman)
Team - Stuart Holland, Rob Pugh (Matt Parkhouse), Jim Field, Danny Holman, Mike Pugh, Chris Sutcliffe, Matty Bradfield, Dougladinho, Andy Oliver, Paul"Nookie" Martin (Lewis Allen), Josh Mann
Bookings - R Pugh, M Pugh, D Holman
Goals - Matt Parkhouse... sorry... Own Goal..
Score 1-0
Attendence - 14
Season tickets are now available for season 2007-2008. Benefits are tickets to each Hethersett Athletic A team home and away fixtures, once a season visit the training ground and watch the team train. Hot chocolate at half time.
